External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday met with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, at the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Niagara, Canada. The two ministers reviewed the ongoing law-enforcement dialogue between their countries and discussed progress on the Canada-India Joint Roadmap.
In a statement released by Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was noted that the roadmap sets out a plan to strengthen cooperation in key areas, including energy, trade, and people-to-people ties.
During their discussion, the Canadian minister also conveyed her “deepest condolences" to Jaishankar for the lives lost in the recent blast in New Delhi, which claimed 12 lives. She reaffirmed that Canada stands with the people of India during this tragic time.
