Cincinnati Public Schools are asking parents to speak up on how the district should spend their tax dollars.

It comes as the district deals with the fallout of serious financial challenges. Advertisement

Wednesday night's discussion will be an open dialogue about how to best invest in students. It's the first step in shaping the budget for the next school year.

The meeting comes as CPS has slashed more than 100 teaching positions over the last year to close the budget gap. But, last week, voters approved a renewal levy that will generate $48 million annually for the next decade.

It's all local money coming in that would be split between preschool expansion, K-12 programs in the district, technology access and career readiness programs.
