Phraewanit is a single mother raising four children in Thailand after her husband abandoned the family. Despite the challenges, her love for her children remains her guiding strength.
"My children are my whole life,” she said. “My love for them cannot be measured."
To provide for her family, Phraewanit sold chicken at a rundown stall in the local market.
She worked tirelessly, but her earnings were barely enough to keep her family fed. Hunger became a daily struggle.
“When our mom is sick, I cook rice for my siblings,” shared her son, Namo. “I try not to eat too much. Sometimes, I don’t eat at all.”
His younger sister, Meesuk, described her own way of coping: “When my stomach hurts, I go to sleep so that the hunger will go away.”
