A former librarian at the Bristol County jail is accused of smuggling sheets of paper infused with synthetic marijuana into the facility by disguising them as legal paperwork, officials said Monday.
In a scheme that allegedly involved one current inmate, two former inmates, and an outside associate, Ginger Hook, 46, of New Bedford, allegedly served as a go-between to move thousands of dollars worth of the drug, known as K2 , into the jail, said Bristol County’s sheriff, Paul Heroux.
“I am announcing what is perhaps the largest alleged employee drug bust in Bristol County jail history,” Heroux said in a statement. “Keeping illicit drugs out of jails and prisons is a problem in every correctional facility in the country.”
