GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Bells will be ringing in the greater Green Bay area. The local Salvation Army kicks off its Christmas campaign Wednesday.

Volunteers critical to campaign success

The red kettles need donations of time as well as change. The Salvation Army needs to fill thousands of bell-ringing shifts.

Each shift is one hour long, though volunteers are welcome to stay longer. You can pick the time and place you’d like to ring the bell.

Having a bellringer at a red kettle is critical, because people are more likely to donate than when there’s no one there.
