The House will vote on legislation Wednesday to end the longest government shutdown in the nation's history.

A bipartisan deal to end the shutdown advanced through the House Rules Committee overnight, with all Republicans supporting the measure and all Democrats opposing it.

FOX News reported that the legislation will get a House-wide "rule vote," a procedural test that, if it passes, allows lawmakers to debate the legislation itself.

Lawmakers are expected to then hold a final vote on Wednesday evening on sending the legislation to President Donald Trump's desk for his signature.

Earlier this week, lawmakers agreed on a stopgap bill that will reopen the government after a Monday evening vote.
