A man has been arrested after a woman was hit by a car in Salford .

Emergency services were called out to Summerville Road at around 4.10am this morning (November 12).

Greater Manchester Police says a 26-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being hit by the vehicle.

The force has described the incident as a 'serious assault' involving the car.

The incident has been described as 'domestic-related' in a statement issued by GMP.
