The House of Representatives' first votes on the proposal to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history will take place shortly after 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday (November 12) and a final vote will be held after 7:00 p.m., ABC News reports.

Wednesday's session will be the first within the House in 54 days and mark the 43rd day of the U.S. government shutdown, which had previously broke a 35-day record set during President Donald Trump 's first administration as the longest in American history.
