On Nov. 11, America saw Harrison Whitaker, a researcher originally from Terre Haute, take a buzzer on the quiz show.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Harrison is a researcher in the United Kingdom. He earned a Ph.D. in Film & Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge .

Whitaker won $34,801, besting former champion Allegra Kuney, a Ph.D. candidate from New Brunswick, New Jersey, by more than $10,000.
