A 24-hour weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for rain for part of Kent . The yellow warning is set to come into force at 6am on Friday (November 14) and will last until 6am the following day.

Forecasters have warned of a risk of flooding and travel disruption. There is also a chance of power cuts and loss of other services to homes and businesses.

Only the northern part of Kent is set to be affected. This includes Dartford , Chatham , Gravesend , Whitstable and Maidstone .

Met Office chief forecaster Neil Armstrong said: “The UK is in for an unsettled week of weather, with frequent spells of heavy rain and at times strong, gusty winds. Given recent wet weather and saturated ground in places, this could lead to some flooding. Difficult travelling conditions are
