New Delhi, Nov 12: Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday blamed the central government for security lapses following the deadly car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, calling it a failure of governance in the national capital.

Kharge demanded a swift and thorough probe into the incident, which killed at least 12 people and injured several others. “A thorough investigation should be conducted, and punishment should be given accordingly. No leniency should be shown to anyone involved. People should fear committing such acts — fear must come through strict punishment,” he said in a statement.
