CLEVELAND, Ohio — There has been a motivation around Villa Angela-St. Joseph for the last 12 months.

Call it unfinished business after the Vikings’ hopes of state-title contention were cut short in the second round of the playoffs. They reached that stage again last week, this time after a first-round bye in the OHSAA’s new 12-team format for each region, and unleashed their angst in a 69-32 win against Maple Heights.
