VAN BUREN COUNTY, Iowa —
Tensions ran high during a town hall hosted by U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Van Buren County on Monday, where one attendee was removed within the first 10 minutes.
In between interruptions, Miller-Meeks, who represents Iowa's 1st District, fielded questions ranging from tariffs to the ongoing government shutdown and discussed her support for changes to Medicaid under President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
"Many levels on Medicaid has been unsustainable, Medicaid growth will continue to be 30% but we did put some reforms in so that those who are on Medicaid was intended for, children, pregnant woman, those with disabilities, those who are senior or dual eligible," Miller-Meeks said.
