A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning at Raj Grandeur building in Powai, Mumbai , where the cleaning of a sewage treatment plant (STP) led to the death of one worker and left another in critical condition.

According to a Mid-Day report, two workers from Ulta Tech Pvt Ltd accidentally fell into a septic tank while cleaning the STP. The Mumbai Fire Brigade said the workers likely suffered suffocation due to toxic gases trapped inside the plant.

Fire brigade officials, along with an ambulance and BMC ward staff, rushed to the scene and rescued the workers. They were taken to Hiranandani Hospital, located opposite the building. One of them was declared brought dead, while the other remains in ICU in critical condition.
