PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- City Hall is getting festive for the holidays and Grammy Award-winner Ashanti will help Philadelphia celebrate!

The Philly Holiday tree was put into place at Philadelphia City Hall on Wednesday morning.

This year's tree comes from Yule Tree Farms in Hornell, New York.

It's more than 50 feet tall and 75 years old!

The arrival event featured comments from Mayor Cherelle Parker, special performances, and programming announcements, ushering in the holiday season.

6abc General Manager Bernie Prazenica was also on hand, as 6abc is a proud supporter of the Philly Holiday Tree.

Officials also announced on Wednesday that singer Ashanti will headline the city's annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on December 4.
