ATLANTA — Traffic near Piedmont Hospital in Buckhead was a major mess this morning.

Work trucks and a crane blocked Collier Road just west of Peachtree Road through morning drive, after overnight work on underground equipment lasted longer than expected, a Georgia Power spokesperson told 11Alive.

This closure of a key cut through between Northside Drive and Peachtree Road jammed those major roads, too. And it caused extreme backups on the adjoining neighborhood streets, as the work crews have rerouted traffic to take alternate routes.
