PEORIA ( 25News Now ) -As part of a Veterans Day tradition, Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria held a flag-raising ceremony Tuesday to honor those who have served the country.
Dozens attended the tribute and a reminder of the ongoing need to support veterans.
“Honoring them, showing them our appreciation, big or small. A text, a free drink at a restaurant. I believe the community has a lot of joy in recognizing our service members,” said Austen Bozarth, an Illinois Army National Guard veteran and Carle Health team member.
The ceremony included remarks from a Carle Health team member who was a veteran, and a Carle Health chaplain who offered a prayer. The event featured the raising of the American flag and participation of a color guards from the American Legion and Veterans of
