Matt Sieg and David Davis had their college futures set.
Two of the top senior football players in the state, Fort Cherry’s Sieg and Imani Christian’s Davis both had made verbal commitments to play at Penn State. The plan was to sign a letter of intent with Penn State in December, enroll early at Penn State and be on the University Park campus in January.
Now, Sieg and Davis have no idea where they will be in January.
Sieg, a quarterback/defensive back, and Davis, a receiver/defensive back, are two of a handful of WPIAL players who were committed to Penn State but opened up their recruitment after Penn State fired coach James Franklin.
