DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. – Corporal Blake Reynolds of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was killed early Wednesday morning, November 12, while assisting a stranded motorist on Interstate 69 near the 247-mile marker.
Corporal Reynolds, a four-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, was helping a broken-down semi when his patrol vehicle was struck by a northbound semi-truck. At the time of the collision, he was outside his vehicle and was struck during the impact. Multiple agencies responded immediately, and life-saving measures were attempted at the scene. Despite every effort, Corporal Reynolds succumbed to his injuries.
