FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is in Fort Wayne on Wednesday, headlining the 4th Annual Northeast Indiana Defense Summit.

The summit is hosted by Indiana Senator Jim Banks (R) in Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Walb Student Union. Each year, leading U.S. national security officials, defense industry experts, and state and local officials gather for the event.

Several other speakers, including the Secretary of the Navy John Phelan, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Critical Technologies Mike Dodd, and other industry experts, attended on Wednesday.

The event is slated to run until 1:45 p.m., ending with remarks from Sen. Banks.
