I’m not sure why Pat Narduzzi is downplaying one of Pitt’s highest-profile games of the 21st century, but whatever he’s doing lately is working, so I guess we should play along.

Notre Dame’s coming. So is “College GameDay,” for the first time in 20 years. The Panthers will take center stage with a chance to kick “America’s Team,” as Narduzzi dubbed the Fighting Irish, clear out of the College Football Playoff. And to do it on the 50th anniversary of Tony Dorsett rambling for 303 yards against Notre Dame at Pitt Stadium.

But this isn’t just about what Pitt can do to somebody else. This is about what Pitt can do for Pitt.
