: The Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ Association (KJDSTA) and the Garo Hills Deficit School Teachers and Employees Association (GHDSTEA) asked the state government to safeguard the interests of the deficit school teachers while implementing any new pay structure or categorization policy.
Submitting a joint memorandum to the education minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Wednesday, the two associations said the teachers are apprehensive about the two‑category restructuring announced in October 2025.
