CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Beloved Cleveland Browns legendary quarterback Bernie Kosar has been very open and public about health issues he’s been battling for a couple of years.
In summer 2024, Kosar was diagnosed with liver failure and Parkinson’s disease.
On social media, Kosar has been updating his fans about his need for a liver transplant that was supposed to happen over the weekend but did not.
He has now had to undergo three surgeries since, for various complications, with latest one being Wednesday morning.
“I could really use your love, support and actual prayers,” Kosar said in a post this morning from his hospital bed.
In true Kosar fashion, the rest of his message is about helping those he says are in worse shape than he is, through his Renewing Athletes Lives program .
