The Boston Red Sox are staring down the barrel at a very important offseason after finding their way into the playoffs last year. One guy who will be keeping close tabs on the team from afar is St. Louis Cardinals president of baseball operations, Chaim Bloom .
Before latching on with the Cardinals, Bloom was Boston’s chief baseball officer from 2020 to 2023. While Bloom helped build the Red Sox’s farm system back up, he is widely blamed for breaking up the franchise’s 2018 World Series team.
Bloom isn’t exactly a popular figure in Boston, but the team began to reap the benefits of his work in 2025. Speaking to Chris Cotillo of MassLive, Bloom revealed he holds no ill will towards the Red Sox, saying that he is proud of what the team managed to accomplish last season.
