An Air India Express flight was forced to make an emergency landing today following a mid-air bomb threat.

The plane, en route from Mumbai to Varanasi with 176 passengers on board, triggered a high alert at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. Upon landing safely, the aircraft was immediately moved to the isolation bay.

A bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search but found no suspicious objects.

"One of our flights to Varanasi received a security threat. In line with protocol, the was immediately alerted, and all necessary security procedures promptly initiated," said an Air India Express spokesperson. "The flight landed safely, and all guests have been disembarked. The aircraft will be released for operations once all mandated security checks are completed."
