'Everyone’s moved on, but I’m still here, holding on to hope'

The mother of a 16-year-old girl killed in a car crash almost two years ago says she feels her daughter has been forgotten as a police investigation into the incident continues. Alisha Marie Ponter, from Folkestone, died after the car she was a passenger in overturned on the A249 in Maidstone last February.

A 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the collision and remains on bail. Kent Police says it is “determined” to provide Alisha’s family with answers, but stresses that detailed forensic and medical enquiries can take time.
