The government shutdown is the longest ever in U.S. history.
After more than 40 days, the lingering government shutdown could soon end. The Senate passed a measure Nov. 10 that would fund the government through Jan. 30. However, the government remains closed until the House agrees on the legislation and President Donald Trump signs off.
