A woman has tragically died after being hit by a car in St Helens.

Officers descended on Clock Face Road at 5.35pm last Monday evening (November 3) following a collision involving the 25-year-old pedestrian and a white Suzuki Vitara.

The woman was taken to hospital with significant injuries, Merseyside Police says.

In an update issued today (November 12), the force confirmed she later died on Wednesday, November 5.

Police say an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident, while specialist officers are supporting her family.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries.
