James Van Der Beek is auctioning off his personal “Dawson’s Creek” memorabilia to fund his cancer treatments.
Van Der Beek — who was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer last year — reflected on his decision to team up with Propstore for a live auction in an interview with People Tuesday.
“I’ve been storing these treasures for years, waiting for the right time to do something with them, and with all of the recent unexpected twists and turns life has presented recently, it’s clear that the time is now,” he told the outlet.
All proceeds from the auction, taking place from Dec. 5-7, will help the actor and his family with the financial burden of fighting cancer.
