Rockland police are looking for an alleged assailant in a “targeted” shooting.

Police received a report of gunshots in Deering Square on Tuesday night.

Responding officers discovered a male had been shot and the suspect, a male dressed in all black, had fled the scene.

The Massachusetts State Police airwing and local K-9 and drone units helped Rockland officers search the area, but the suspect is still at large, police say.

The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting, the identity of the suspect, or possible suspicious vehicles in the area of Deering Square and Winding Way between 8 and 11 p.m. Tuesday is asked to call Rockland police at 781-871-3890.
