Eagles make Jaire Alexander decision to clear room for cornerback returning from IR

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a decision on cornerback Jaire Alexander, which also clears room for the return of fellow cornerback Jakorian Bennett.

The Eagles announced that they have placed Alexander on the reserve/retired list just one day after it was revealed Alexander was stepping away from the team.

In a corresponding move, Philly activated cornerback Jakorian Bennett off injured reserve, clearing his return to the field.

Alexander informed the Eagles that he's stepping away from football in order to get right physically and mentally, according to ESPN's Tim McManus . Alexander is dealing with a knee injury.
