Nearly 200 new veteran names added to Veterans Honor Wall

The city of Peoria honored the service and sacrifice of local veterans with its annual Veterans Day Ceremony, Nov. 11, at the Rio Vista Community Park Veterans Memorial.

Veterans Memorial Board Chair Tad Snidecor provided the welcome and introduction of speakers for the event.

Speakers included Mayor Jason Beck, and U.S. Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-Surprise), both veterans.

This year’s ceremony celebrated the addition of 197 new veteran names to the Peoria Veterans Honor Wall. The wall recognizes the bravery and dedication of those who served in the United States Armed Forces.

Retired U.S. Air Force Sgt. Scott Duke spoke about those veterans and the importance of the holiday.
