New Delhi: Two days after a deadly car explosion near the iconic Red Fort killed 12 people and injured many others, the Central government acknowledged on Wednesday that it was a terror attack.

Condemning the “dastardly and cowardly act” of November 10, the Union Cabinet termed it a “heinous terrorist incident” and resolved to bring the perpetrators, their collaborators and sponsors to justice. ADVERTISEMENT

“The country has witnessed a heinous terrorist incident perpetrated by anti-national forces through a car explosion near Red Fort on 10th November,” stated the resolution which was read out by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting to review the situation and assess the ongoing investigation.
