MARSHALL, MO – A documentary profiling Marshall native and radio broadcaster Art Hains will premiere at the Marshall Cinema Thursday night.
Voice Unbroken , from filmmaker Dena Hildebrand, tells the story of Hains, the voice of Missouri State University athletics for over 40 years and a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Football Radio Network, and his rehabilitation from a near-death experience.
In 2022, Hains returned home from broadcasting a Missouri State football game with his legs feeling weak to the point of non-mobility.
Doctors would diagnose Hains with West Nile virus, which left him paralyzed, on a breathing machine and fighting to stay alive.
But Hildebrand tells KMZU News that Hains was determined to not give up.
