SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg Police Department responded to Spartanburg Regional in reference to a domestic assault early Wednesday.

Officers said the victim had cuts on his chest. The victim said he had been at a relative’s house in Collins Park with his ex-boyfriend, Kendrick Cannon, when the two got into an argument. Cannon chased the victim with a boxcutter and cut him. The victim was able to run away from him into the home, and Cannon ran away.

According to officials, the victim and Cannon have been separated for the last three years after a 10-year intimate relationship and previously living together.

Police said that they will be charging Cannon.
