PARMA, Ohio -- A recent theft case turned doxing incident led to the police department admonishing the public about the dangers of social media.
Parma Police Department Public Information Officer Scott M. Traxler said on Oct. 8, dispatch received two reports of vehicle break-ins -- resulting in power tools and personal items stolen from unlocked vehicles.
Video surveillance captured a suspect vehicle -- a Ford truck with distinctive multi-colored camouflage and metal gate rails -- in the area during the incidents.
“A Ring doorbell observed a vehicle that was ultimately identified by detectives,” he said. “They identified and contacted the registered owner, who was very forthcoming, stating that she wasn’t aware of this incident.
