Richmond Community Schools Superintendent Brian Walmsley responded to threatening images created by a student in a public letter Nov. 11.

According to the letter, the situation started when a middle school student shared images that allegedly included an inappropriate comment and a toy weapon. The images were not taken or shared on school grounds or during any school-sponsored event, but the student who the photos were shared with perceived the images as threatening and immediately reported them to the school resource officer.
