The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Wednesday what can be construed as positive injury news on Darius Garland’s left big toe.
The two-time All-Star guard is dealing with a contusion on the toe and will sit out Wednesday’s game against the host Miami Heat.
He sustained only a bruise during the second quarter of Cleveland’s 140-138 overtime loss to the Heat on Monday. Per the Cavaliers, Garland will receive daily treatment and will continue his “post-surgery management plan.”
Garland, 25, averaged 13.0 points and 5.0 assists over his first three games (all starts) of the season after sitting out the team’s initial seven contests as he ramped up for a return.
