PHOENIX – A Mega Millions ticket sold in the West Valley won a whopping $5 million prize in Tuesday night’s drawing, Arizona Lottery officials announced.
The golden ticket was purchased at the CVS pharmacy on the southeast corner of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road in Peoria.
It matched all five white balls — 10, 13, 40, 42 and 46 – but missed the gold Mega Ball of 1.
Mega Millions entries cost $5 each and automatically include a randomly generated multiplier of two, three, four, five or 10 times.
The Peoria ticket had a multiplier of five to pump up the $1 million base prize.
