SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady City Council has delayed its planned vote on attempting to override Mayor Gary McCarthy’s 2026 budget veto.
The council that includes a 2.6% property tax increase and stays within the state tax cap. , labeling the spending plan “fiscally irresponsible” and claiming the council inflated projected revenues for sales of foreclosed homes and fees for parking violations in order to stay under the cap.
