The Michigan Barn Preservation Network is seeking submissions for its 2026 Michigan Barn of the Year Awards.
The awards honor barn owners who have maintained or restored historic barns. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the awards, which have recognized 116 barns across Michigan for their unique qualities and preservation efforts, according to a community announcement.
The program aims to celebrate existing Michigan barns that contribute to preserving the state's agricultural heritage. Nominated barns must be in use, either for continued agricultural purposes or adapted for other uses. They must also retain their overall appearance, both in interior and exterior characteristics.
