A Patriot for life: Rob Gronkowski is signing a ceremonial one-day contract so he can officially retire with the Patriots.

The legendary tight end played nine seasons in New England, winning three Super Bowls.

He briefly retired in 2019, but he came out of retirement to play in Tampa with Tom Brady, where they won another Super Bowl.

Gronkowski has not played in an NFL game since 2021.

He said he's signing the one-day contract to fulfill the wish of a close friend who died of cancer earlier this month.
