NHS Midlands have issued updated face mask guidance as the winter period gets into full swing.

As flu infections begin to creep up and Covid is still a nasty presence across the UK, the health body is urging Brits to wear masks if asked when visiting a healthcare institution.

Kirsty Morgan, the assistant director of infection prevention and control for the NHS in the Midlands explained how wearing masks and washing hands can help to reduce the spread of infection during the colder months.

She said on X: "Whilst there are no mandated requirements for people to wear masks, wearing face masks if asked when visiting healthcare settings and washing your hands will help us to reduce the spread of infection this winter."
