The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the Union government over the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of neglecting national security while focusing on election campaigns.
In a sharply worded editorial titled “ Delhi Duhli… Grih Mantri Ki Vifalta” (“Delhi Shaken… Failure of the Home Minister”) published in the party mouthpiece Saamana, the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction said the explosion at a site where the Prime Minister annually addresses the nation on Independence Day exposes a “complete collapse” of the country’s intelligence and security apparatus.
