MASURY, Ohio - A Masury man accused of murdering his sister back has been found competent to stand trial.

An employee at Judge Sean O'Brien's court tells 21 News 62-year-old John Zanolli was found competent during a status conference Wendesday morning.

Zanolli is charged with aggravated murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the shooting death of his sister, 65-year-old Janice Zanolli, in her 3rd Street home.

Police did not find Janice's body until March 1, several days after her death. Police say her brother, John, had shot her in the head and spent the following days contemplating suicide.

Police say Zanolli was threatening suicide when officers came the house, but he was able to be apprehended within about 30 minutes.

Zanolli was originally set to go on trial in September
