Getting eloped might not be as romantic as having a traditional wedding, but it could help your wallet.
Over the past 5 years the price tag on an average wedding has risen nearly 20% to $33,000 according to wedding marketplace The Knot.
The upward trend is expected to continue in part because of the Trump administration's tariffs .
Vendors say charges on non U.S. countries have caused their prices to go up for items including: dresses, rings and even cake ingredients.
