One of the Seattle Seahawks’ highest profile signings has earned an NFL weekly honor for his historic performance in Week 10.
Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award after scoring not one, but two fumble return touchdowns in Seattle’s 44-22 blowout over the Arizona Cardinals. Lawrence also recorded a half-sack for good measure.
The former Dallas Cowboys star became only the fourth player in NFL history to return two fumbles for touchdowns in the same game. He’s had a very good debut season for Seattle, recording four sacks in addition to being second on the team in quarterback hits (11) and tackles for loss (7). Lawrence is also a major reason Seattle boasts one of the league’s best and stingiest run defenses.
