Three Connecticut brothers are celebrating a massive win after claiming a $2 million Mega Millions prize.
The trio hit big on a ticket bought at Stop & Shop on Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, according to the Connecticut Lottery. The $5 quick pick matched all five white balls from the Oct. 24 drawing — 11, 18, 31, 51, and 56.
Because of a 2X multiplier, their $1 million prize doubled to $2 million.
The brothers, who are from New Milford, Brookfield, and Salem, Massachusetts, walked away with roughly $666,666 after splitting the winnings three ways. They told Connecticut Lottery they plan to invest the money.
“Our mother would be upset if we didn't share it,” the brothers joked with the lottery.
But the boys weren't content with one win. They admitted to lottery officials they'd already purchased another ticket for a later Powerball drawing.
