GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — A Gibson County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured by a dog during an incident on Wednesday morning.

Around 9 a.m., a deputy was attempting to serve a civil process paper at a home on North 100 West near Princeton.

At the residence, the sheriff's office says multiple dogs approached the deputy, and that one bit the deputy on the lower leg.

The deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment of puncture wounds to their leg.

Gibson County Animal Service also conducted an investigation and placed the animal into quarantine.
