WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police have released officer bodycam footage from the aftermath of an incident where a man allegedly hit a car head-on, fled the scene, and then hit a firetruck head-on as it was responding to the first crash.
Brian Weaver, 46, is accused of DUI in the incident, along with duty to stop in an accident resulting in injuries to others.
The first crash took place at 11:39 p.m. Sunday on West Shore Road where police say Weaver’s truck hit a Toyota RAV4 head-on and fled the scene.
Weaver then allegedly hit a firetruck head-on at West Shore Road and Sandy Lane as the emergency vehicle was responding to the first crash.
He was transported to an area hospital for injury treatment and later charged.
